Daniel Radcliffe Broadway debut
Daniel Radcliffe is gearing up to wow audiences on Broadway - and is set to reveal a little more than his excellent acting skills.
The Harry Potter star will bare all for his Broadway debut in the transfer of the London revival of Peter Shaffer's psychological stage drama Equus, which took the West End by storm when it opened in February 2007 - thanks to, among other reasons, Radcliffe's nearly 10-minute nude scene.
According to Reuters, the NY version will light up the stage this autumn for 22 weeks. Previews begin on 5 September at the Broadhurst Theatre, and producers say an official opening night will air on 25 September.
Daniel told Reuters he was excited about the move, but a little nervous all the same - and who can blame him? He said: It will be amazing, but I will be terrified because I was talking to [costar] Richard Griffiths about playing New York, and he said the most stupid thing you can do is underestimate New York audiences.

Unfortunatly I never got to see Daniel in the West End version of Equus but the same show has started touring around Britain and opened first in my hometown of Chichester with Alfie Allen (Musican Lily Allen's brother) who has also starred in Atonement and The Other Boylen Girl. I went to see it and was amazed.
It was one of the best plays I have ever seen for many different reasons. Alfie Allen is suprisingly outstandingly talented! Such a great script and cast.
I only wish I could have seen Daniel in it as I'm a big fan and think he'd do well in it.
The nude seen was evident but the media has made into such an antisipated event in the play. It IS necessary to the script and is a fascinating piece of drama...the last thing on my mind was examing the actors genitals!
It was a captivating play that I would recommend to any theatre or drama lovers. However, if all your going for is to see the nude scene; save your money! The play is very serious and not for the weak of mind!
:D
thanks x
