Patrick Swayze 'thrilled' by cancer treatment

Patrick Swayze and his doctors are ‘thrilled’ by his ‘excellent’ response so far to treatment for pancreatic cancer.

The Dirty Dancing star announced last month he had been diagnosed with the disease, one of the most aggressive cancers there is.

But his dancer wife, Lisa Niemi, told People magazine: ‘We're thrilled and grateful for the positive response Patrick has shown towards his treatment.

‘Also, we can't help but feel that all the prayers, meditations and good thoughts sent his way by everyone has made a difference. Thank you!’

His physician, Dr. George Fisher, added: ‘Patrick Swayze continues to respond well to his treatment for pancreatic cancer. Because of his excellent response, he will continue the same therapy at Stanford.’

According to the 55-year-old’s rep, he has been undergoing chemotherapy but not radiation treatment.
