Cruise to be Lopez godfather?

Jennifer Lopez has reportedly asked Tom Cruise to be godfather to her newborn twins Max and Emme, it has been claimed.

The new mum, who gave birth in February, is said to have asked close pal Tom to step up to the role, but hubby Marc Anthony was allegedly less than impressed.

One tabloid spy revealed: 'Tom is delighted. Marc wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to have a Scientologist as the kids’ godfather, especially as he and Jennifer are both Catholic. But in the end Jennifer managed to convince him to agree.'

Tom is reportedly planning to throw a $200,000 'Welcome to the World' party for his (possibly) soon-to-be new godchildren.

The Catholic Church requires at least ONE Godparent to be a practicing Catholic. No, Katie doesn't count since L Ron Hubbard said that Jesus was a pedophile and prone to fits of rage and hatred. That doesn't mesh well with Christianity.

So, um, I guess the kids aren't getting a Catholic Baptism unless they have a silent 3rd, but by all means, enjoy your welcome to Teegeak party.
