Winona Ryder shoplifting claim

Winona Ryder

US reports have suggested that Winona Ryder has been suffering from 'sticky fingers' again.

The 36-year-old actress was allegedly spotted leaving a Hollywood store with make-up items on her that she hadn't paid for.

Winona hit the headlines six years ago when, at the height of her career, she was convicted of shoplifting £3,000 worth of clothing from a Saks Fifth Avenue store in Beverly Hills.

Now, according to the National Enquirer, Winona has been at it again – and set off the alarm at Hollywood CVC Pharmacy after making several purchases.

A store employee is quoted as saying: 'Winona had a bag of stuff, but she set off the theft alarm when she left the store.

'When a security guard stopped her, he found make-up she had not paid for.'

And when she was asked about the make-up, Winona reportedly answered: 'I don't know how that happened.'

The store employee added: 'We took unpaid items back and she left the store.'

Winona's publicist at first denied the incident took place. But when told a store employee had confirmed it, reportedly said she would check with her again.

Back in 2002, Winona claimed as part of her defense that she stole from the Beverly Hills store to prepare for a film role.

But the court found her guilty, and she was sentenced to three years probation and 480 hours of community service.

If Winona has been stealing it could be because she is a thrill-seeker. She might need an element of danger in her life ( rather like some politicians who have risky sexual affairs) or it could be a cry for help.

Winona isn't poor and can afford a few bits of make-up. Financially there's no reason for her to steal such petty items.
