Halle Berry names her baby

Halle Berry

Halle Berry and model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry have named their newborn baby girl and, in typical celebrity fashion, it's not your run-of-the-mill Louise or Sarah. Introducing Nahla Ariela Aubry.

Halle gave birth on Sunday at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.

The little tot weighed 7lb 4oz, and Halle's rep confirmed the star was doing well.

I like the name Nahla - I am going to assume it is pronounced Narla. However why do celebrities feel they need to give their children unusual names instead of names that have been used for decades. Do they think it is going to make their children more special or unique than any other child? What a load of tosh! There is more to a child than their name that makes them special and unique such as their personality.

First of all I want to disagree with the X (or whoever you are). Why shouldn't a new mother want her child to be more special or unique from any other child? That is HER baby not anyone else’s... You must not have any of your own? I agree that there IS more to having a special name for that precious little one, but why not give them a name that will reflect that? I also feel that celebrities give their children unique names because of the attention they already get from the media. They probably feel they deserve to show their separation from every ordinary.
