Madonna's marriage on the rocks?

Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie's marriage is reportedly close to breakdown, with some newspapers claiming the pop queen is already making plans to head back to New York.

Insiders say the couple, who married in December 2000, have been living separate lives, even dividing their homes into his and hers quarters.

One insider says: 'The marriage is hanging by a thread.

'No one doubts they adore their three kids (Lourdes, 11, Rocco, 7, and two-year-old David Banda) - but the children seem to be the only reason they are living this strange loveless existence.'

Rumours of problems have intensified in recent weeks, after it was claimed Madonna felt 'badly let down' that Guy has not supported her in recent high-profile public events.

The source said: 'There were rows after Guy didn't turn up at Madonna's Raising Malawi fundraiser at the UN HQ in New York last month.

'The event was incredibly important to her.

'Guy also wasn't present at his wife's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame dinner last week.'

It would be a real shame if they can't make it work. 7 years is a lifetime in celeb marriage terms - C'mon Madge & Guy- we need to see at least one celeb marriage work!
