Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has been assigned ex-SAS bodyguards to protect him after receiving death threats from a stalker.

The 18-year-old’s every move is being watched while filming for the sixth movie in the Potter series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

The exact nature of the threat is unclear, but Warner Bros studios are certainly taking it seriously. Radcliffe has had to switch cars three times, has been allocated a ‘chase car’ to follow his own vehicle, and his driver of seven years – seen as ‘part of the family’ – has been told to stand down temporarily.

One studio insider confirmed: ‘There is real concern for Daniel's welfare. This isn't about keeping an eye out for paparazzi - they're looking for something sinister.’

It is sad that our society has come to such a state that people become so obsessed with stars that they become a danger to them.

The official Dan Radcliffe website has said that this information is nonsense, that it is all made up. There has been no such threat and his driver has not been stood down. Info like this upsets his fans and worries them without reason.
