Nicole Richie baby pics

Nicole Richie has posed for the cover of People magazine with her newborn baby girl: Harlow Winter Kate Madden.

The 26-year-old star and her boyfriend Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden, 28, welcomed little Harlow on 11 January in LA.

The couple, who were reportedly paid $1 million for exclusive rights to Harlow’s first photo, say she has brought a new shine to life.

Nicole says: ‘She gives life a whole new meaning and a whole new purpose.’

But Lionel’s daughter has had to alter her diet to accommodate the new arrival, admitting: ‘I eat really bland [food] – chicken noodle soup, vegetables, fish. I had to cut out milk, no tomatoes, no lettuce. You think you have to cut everything out when you’re pregnant, but you really have to cut everything out when you’re breastfeeding.’

Meanwhile, it looks like she won’t be putting work on the back-burner – US reports say she is in talks to star as Roxie Hart in the award-winning Broadway production Chicago.

The role would involve a move to New York, but an insider at US magazine says: ‘Nicole’s definitely interested and is weighing it out.’

I'm a midwife and am surprised by Nicole's claim of having to cut out certain foods for breastfeeding. A women may eat any kind of food she likes while she is breastfeeding. Of course, if Harlow is cranky after Nicole has eaten tomatoes or lettuce, then she is eliminating those items by choice. I hope the interview snippets above are being taken out of context. P.S. I think fish and veg are much more appetising than lettuce and tomatoes!

She's really cute, and she looks older for her age! How come Christina's son Max looked a lot smaller than her?...he's only a day younger...maybe the picture of Max was taken earlier than when it was shown in People magazine
