Die-hard Madonna fans (that’s most of us, secretly) will be excited to know that Madonna has named her new album after one of her biggest passions: sweets.

Hard Candy, due for release on 29 April, was so named because ‘she loves candy’, her longtime rep Liz Rosenberg told Entertainment Weekly.

She adds: ‘It’s about the juxtaposition of tough and sweetness, or as Madonna so eloquently expressed, “I’m gonna kick your ass, but it’s going to make you feel good.”’

The hotly-anticipated Hard Candy will feature guest appearances and production by Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, and Timbaland.
