Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are the proud new parents of twins - a boy and a girl.

The singer gave birth early this morning in Long Island, New York. The girl was born at 12.12am and weighed 5lbs 7oz, and the boy followed at 12.23am weighing 6lbs.

Lopez's manager, Simon Fields, told People magazine: 'Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon.'

The twins are Jennifer's first children, and the fourth for Marc, who already has three kids with his ex-wife.

Longtime friend Leah Remini calls 38-year-old Lopez 'a born mum' and very nurturing. 'With our daughter, she's so great. I mean, lets her go in her closet and play with her coats or her jewelry. She's just so giving and loving,' Remini said.

Lopez announced her pregnancy on 8 November 2007 when she told the crowd during her final Miami concert: 'Marc and I are expecting a baby!' The news of twins was finally confirmed by Lopez's dad earlier this month, in an interview on Spanish-language television.

I think thats GREAT I love JLO and i cant wait to see how cute her babies are gonna look like:-) as her friends says she does seem like a born mummy...

Ohhhh, that's really sweet. A boy and a girl means she'll never have to go through all that again.
Bet she feels absolutely pole-axed to coin a phrase!!
Good on you Jennifer and congrats. Bet she will have a nanny tho. Can u imagine sleepless nights with two of them always waking each other up!! Rather you than me Jen eh!
