Jude, Colin and Johnny to step in to Ledger's last role
Rex Features
Three of Hollywoods biggest stars Jude Law, Colin Farrell, and Johnny Depp are stepping in to Heath Ledgers final role in the unfinished movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, according to a rep for Law.
Speaking to the BBC, Laws spokeswoman revealed the three actors would all be playing Heaths role of Tony, but was unsure of how the part would be restructured in the magic-themed movie.
Ledger was still shooting the $30 million film, directed by Terry Gilliam and co-starring Christopher Plummer, when he was found dead in a New York apartment from an accidental overdose of prescription pills on 22 January.
The BBC speculates that the production will retain its original footage of Ledger, with Law, Depp and Farrell each playing different versions of Tony.
The weekend before Heaths death, he and Plummer had completed the London leg of the film, and were preparing to continue shooting the following week in Vancouver, Canada.
Plummer told People magazine that, when the production left England, Heath was 'in very high spirits. He was just enjoying himself tremendously. It's a rather fanciful script, and he was wonderful in this role.
