Lindsay Lohan bares all
Lindsay Lohan has bared all for New York magazine to recreate the last photo shoot Marilyn Monroe ever posed for.
In 1962, photographer Bert Stern shot a series of photos of Marilyn Monroe that have collectively become known as The Last Sitting and are, arguably, the most famous images ever captured of America’s most famous pin-up.
Monroe was photographed in several ‘boozy’ sessions at the Hotel Bel Air, where she was snapped sipping from a Champagne glass, romping evocatively on a bed of white linens, and enacting a fan dance. She was 36 at the time they were taken. Six weeks later she was found dead after an apparent overdose.
Fast-forward 46 years, and Stern has re-created the shots with Lohan, an actress he believes has similarities to Monroe, namely for being a star whose professional achievements don’t quite live up to her prodigious fame, and whose talent hasn’t had a chance to shine through the tabloid tattle.
Stern, who shot the pictures on film rather than digital at the same location (Hotel Bel Air), said he was interested in Lohan because he suspected ‘she had a lot more depth to her’ than one might assume from ‘those teenage movies’.
Lohan herself said she was ‘comfortable’ with posing nude for the camera, but admitted to doing ‘250 crunches’ the night before the shoot.

I haven't glanced at the pictures yet, but i' am sure that they are nor distasteful, or disrespectful. Marilyn Monroe was criticized by others because she wasn't afraid to be herself and take chances. I believe Lindsey is headed straight down that path. I believe she is trying to evolve herself from cute, little, teenybopper movies and the uncharacteristically similar roles. I think this is a good step for her.
