Blake Fielder-Civil overdoses
Rex Features
Amy Winehouse's husband nearly died in prison after a reported heroin overdose.
Blake Fielder-Civil, incarcerated in Pentonville Prison, was rushed to the prison's hospital this weekend after guards found him vomiting in his cell, having taken a lethal cocktail of heroin mixed with an unknown substance, along with five other inmates.
One source from the London prison said it was a 'close call' for Fielder-Civil, warning he may not be so lucky next time. The source revealed it was the speed with which prison staff reacted that saved the drug addict from serious harm.
Amy's hubby, who is now recovering at Pentonville hospital, has reportedly offered up autographed photos of his wife to other inmates who hope to make money selling them over the internet in return for heroin.
One insider told The Sun: 'Blake has to pay for his gear somehow and he has no qualms about cashing in on his wife's fame.
'He'll take orders from other inmates then ask Amy to bring in signed photos of herself during visits.'
Meanwhile, Amy has been prescribed methadone and prescription drugs to ensure the singer is well enough to attend The Brits this week. The singer, who looks much healthier following her recent stint in rehab, plans to sing Love Is A Losing Game and Valerie with Mark Ronson at the awards do this Wednesday.
