Winehouse 'on road to recovery'

Amy Winehouse's mum, Janis, has revealed that her daughter is 'on the road to recovery' after undergoing treatment for drug addiction in rehab.

In an interview this morning on GMTV, Janis said: 'Amy's coming back, she's definitely on the road back.'

Winehouse, who picked up five Grammy awards on Sunday, was unable to attend the ceremony because of visa problems.

But Janis said it was for the best that she did not make it to the event.

'I think it would have been too much for her because all of the travelling and flying there,' she said.

'I mean seeing what the Grammys were like, I thought if Amy were there, she'd be a little girl lost in it.'

The star's no-show didn't prevent her from singing at the ceremony, though - she had her performance beamed to California through a satellite link-up.

And her mum pointed out what we'd all noticed - her healthy-looking glow.

'As you saw, she looks good. She's on the road to recovery.'
