Amy Winehouse's hopes of performing at this year's Grammys have been dashed, after her US Visa was refused, denying her access to the country.

Although the troubled singer will not attend this Sunday's awards show in person, it is rumoured that she may perform, and accept any awards via a live satellite feed.

Amy's publicist issued a statement yesterday confirming the reports, 'Unfortunately, her application for a visa to enter the United States of America has been rejected at this time by the American Embassy in London.'

It continues, 'Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago, and although disappointed with the decision, has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery.'

Amy has gained six nominations for the prestigious ceremony, which is considered the Oscars of the music world. She has the highest number of nominations for any female artist this year, with only Kanye West gaining more.

I really hope Amy gets over this and realises that she has so much talent just to throw it away. She's fab and I hope she wins every one of her nominations.
