Stars sing for Obama
A host of celebrities have joined to show their support for Barack Obama, by filming a music video entitled 'Yes We Can.'
The song is based on a speech that the Senator gave in New Hampshire on 8 January, and was put to music by Black Eye Pea's star Will.I.Am.
Explaining his inspiration for the song, the singer explains in a blog accompanying the video that he felt torn between his choice of candidates, until he heard Obama's speech. He explains, 'I produced this song to share my newfound inspiration and how I've been moved. I hope this song will make you feel love and think and be inspired just like the speech inspired me.'
The video was directed by Jesse Dylan, son of Bob Dylan, and features over forty actors, musicians and sportsmen, including John Legend, Kate Walsh, Amber Valletta, Nicole Scherzinger, and Scarlett Johansson amongst many others.
The stars either sing or recite the lyrics, which are interspersed with clips of Obama delivering the original speech.
The video has proved a hugely popular addition to the Senator's campaign, and has already been viewed ten million times on its host site, and has had an extra one million views on You Tube.

I'm currently in New York for Fashion Week and the excitement about the Democrat presidential nomination is insane. You can't walk down the street without having a 'Vote Hillary' or 'Vote Obama' leaflet thrust into your hand.
All the TV channels are wall-to-wall election fever (although last night I did manage to find one showing Make Me A Supermodel) and even the shoe-shine men near my hotel have election stickers on their chairs.
The mood here seems to be very much in Obama's favour at the moment, although the only thing everyone agrees on, is it's going to be a closely fought battle.
