Angelina Jolie honoured with film award

Angelina Jolie was honoured on Saturday with a film award, presented to her by Clint Eastwood.

The star, who made no comment on rumours she is pregnant again, picked up the Performance of the Year award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. The actress won the prize for her portrayal of Mariane Pearl, the wife of murdered journalist Daniel Pearl, in the film A Mighty Heart.

Angelina was thrilled to pick the award up from veteran actor and director Clint Eastwood, who directed her in upcoming drama The Changeling.

‘Clint Eastwood? Awwww! Don't get me started,’ Jolie said. ‘I could talk forever about him. I could turn the whole evening into a Clint Eastwood evening. ... I think he's just a genuinely great guy. He's nice to everybody on set.’

Jolie turned up to the event with her partner Brad Pitt in a black blouse and loose-fitting, floor-length skirt. The pair have been tabloid fodder ever since they met on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith in 2004, when Brad was married to Jennifer Aniston.

When asked what she thought it would take for the press to stop focusing on their private life and on more significant issues, she said: ‘I think it's going to take, partly, people wanting to learn those things.

‘I mean, I know, that's what I look for when I wake up in the morning - when I go online or when I get the paper. And you can find it if you're looking for it. And you can avoid silliness if you want to. So it's a personal choice of each individual.’
