John Travolta jumps to Tom Cruise's defence

John Travolta has leaped to the defence of fellow Scientologist Tom Cruise and his now infamous leaked tape.



The much-viewed video, which, according to his rep, was filmed for a private church event, shows Tom praising the Church of Scientology in a slightly bizarre sermon, where he tells followers they have the ability to 'create new and better realities'.



But Travolta stated that he thought the media coverage of the video was unfair, and had gone too far.



Speaking at Australia.com's G'Day LA gala, celebrating Australia Week 2008, on Saturday, he said: '[Tom] has - we all have - the right to practice how we feel. It finally becomes unfair.'
