Lily Allen suffers miscarriage

Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage.

The singer – and current Marie Claire cover girl – reportedly lost her baby after returning from a holiday in the Maldives with her boyfriend, Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons.

'We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage… and we ask that her privacy be respected at this difficult time,' a spokesperson said in a statement.

More than one in five pregnancies ends in miscarriage in Britain today, totaling nearly a quarter of a million each year.

I hope that the press resist the temptation to hound Lily or Ed at this painful time. My thoughts are with them both.

My thoughts are with Lilly and Ed at this difficult time. After losing a baby myself I know what they are going through and I just hope the press respect their privacy at this time.

i feel for lily & her partner. i suffered a miscarriage 3 weeks ago & would resent the media spotlight while trying to deal with such conflicting emotions. i hope the media resist an intrusion on their private life & wish them well.

Lilly this will not be the hardest thing you have to deal with, but you need time to greive as its still a loss and a loss you had nothing to do with, You will cope and come back fighting, forever in our thoughts, Keep "smilin" xx

So sorry it went wrong. As someone who has suffered a miscarriage myself I feel for her. It IS a common thing to happen unfortunately especially in the early stages of pregnancy. You need to look to the future though. (I myself now have 3 healthy, rowdy children!! :-) )
