Rush for ingredients for Gordon Ramsay show
Terry O'Neill
Supermarkets have ordered extra stock of the ingredients needed for Gordon Ramsay's latest cooking programme, after an expected surge in sales ahead of tomorrow night's programme.
As part of Channel 4's The Big Food Fight featuring chefs Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Gordon Ramsay will host Cookalong: Live tomorrow night, inviting the nation to cook along with the celebrity chef in their own homes.
In an hour-long show Ramsay hopes to prove to people that everyone is able to prepare delicious, home-cooked food in just 60 minutes.
As promotion of the programme has increased, Asda has quadrupled its order of king scallops, which are on the menu for the live show. Other ingredients Ramsay is dishing up include sirloin steaks, black olives, Tia Maria and Crunchie bars.
Check back later to see Gordon in action in an exclusive preview clip of the programme, on air at 9pm tomorrow night on Channel 4.

I don't like him. He's boring. Jamie Oliver all the way. x

I agree that 9p.m. is a little late because you would not be eating until 10.00 p.m., also I think that the menu is a little expensive for the ordinary person to be able to afford, especially as we are all trying to economise at the moment.

I would love to cook along with Gordon - however I don't have a television in my kitchen which is probably the most important ingredient. I might just have to take notes too!

I agree, who wants to start cooking at 9pm on a Friday night? I'm with you, I'll be on the sofa with my feet up - but maybe I'll take notes, he may well have some useful tips..

Its a shame it starts at 9pm. Surely it would have been better to do it earlier? Who wants to sit down to a three course meal at 10 when the show is over....I'll be watching it from the comfort of my sofa with a glass of wine. Not quite what Gordon was intending I'm sure!

I think this show is a fantastic idea. I wasn't a huge fan of Gordon's until I read his autobiography recently. but it's made me completely re-asses him. I think the last series of Kitchen Nightmares was also brilliant. Sign me up - I'll be cooking along tomorrow.
