Heath Ledger has hooked up with a fellow Aussie - the stunning model, Gemma Ward.



The pair were spotted holding hands as they dined with friends at a restaurant in their hometown of Perth, Australia, this week.

The restaurant manager observed: ‘It's pretty obvious they're an item.’



Heath split with the mother of his two-year-old daughter, Michelle Williams, last September and, since then, has also been linked to Kate Hudson and Helena Christensen.



His latest squeeze, Gemma, 20, is said to be set for big things after signing up to make her film debut in The Black Balloon, alongside Little Miss Sunshine star Toni Collette.

Being born romantics here at marieclaire.co.uk, we were devastated when Heath and Michelle split up, however, if he's going to date anyone else, uber-model Gemma Ward seems like a good choice. True, she doesn't have Michelle's kooky credentials, but they both know how to wear a Chloe dress to its best advantage.
