Eddie Murphy marriage split

Eddie Murphy has split from his wife after just two weeks of marriage.



The romantically challenged actor and Tracey Edmonds tied the knot on New Year's Day on a private island in French Polynesia. However, married life doesn't seem to agree with the pair and they've since gone their separate ways.



The reason for the break-up? According to sources in America, the honeymoon was 'marred by screaming matches and arguments all week'.



In fact, even on the wedding day there were warning signs that all was not right. 'Eddie started yelling at Tracey in front of people,' one guests told People magazine. 'He did it on a few occasions and it was very embarrassing.'



In a statement released last night, Murphy insisted the couple would 'remain friends'.



One saving grace is that he won't actually have to divorce Edmonds as the marriage ceremony was not legally binding and, although they fully intended to go through the appropriate documentation filed once back from their honeymoon, that now won't happen. 'After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further,' explains Murphy.
