Madonna celebrates adoption in style

It's January, which means every celeb in the business is jetting off to catch some winter sun - including the Queen of pop, Madonna.

The star has splashed out on a £100,000 luxury break in a palace to celebrate confirmation of her adoption of two-year-old David Banda.

The 49-year-old took her family off to India on New Year's Eve to see in 2008 in style. Madonna told staff at the holiday getaway that money was no object as she forked out £2,000 a night for suites at Jaipur's Ummed Bhavan Palace hotel.

News of Madonna's confirmed adoption of Malawian-born David came when a social worker's report backed the star's bid for permanent custody of David, praising her for being an excellent mother.
