Katie Holmes says Tom Cruise's children from his previous marriage call her 'Mom'.

Just a few weeks after Nicole admitted to GMTV that Isabella and Connor - the two children she adopted while married to Tom - had taken to calling her simply Nicole, his new wife has revealed she's the one they refer to as their mother.

'My kids don't call me mommy, they don't even call me mom,' revealed Kidman. 'They call me Nicole, which I hate and tell them off for it.'

Meanwhile, Katie tells Parade magazine this week that the pair 'call me "Mom"' and are 'incredible, really smart and kind'.

Little Suri hasn't been forgotten though, with Katie gushing about their upcoming festivities.

'Last year was Suri's first Christmas. It was so spectacular to share the holidays with her,' she adds. 'It really meant the world to me. To be able to create a tradition for your children is one of the best gifts you can have.'

That is unbelievable poor Nicole, she is a fabulous woman and I would love her to be my mum. What a slap in the face to have your children call your ex-husbands partner mum. I hope this is a phase that passes.

That's really horrible to poor Nicole...not only would it be painful for your children to no longer call you mum anymore, adopted or not, but it would also be a double wammy that they've started calling her exhusband's new wife mum which which would be really hurtful and hard to deal with. I do find the cruises very weird anyway with their strange beliefs and ways, and that they think they're perfectly normal.

Tom and Kate really do live in a bizzare little world. How on earth Kate can think these children calling her 'mum' is the right thing for them to be doing I cannot comprehend.

Do not forget that Nicole Kidman is not their biologic mother.They are adoptive children.

I quite agree with the above comments. I too am with someone who has children from a previous marriage, but they call me by my name and they do joke with me about calling me mum, but i wont have none of it as they have a mothr already and thats the way it should be. I'll be there for them if they need me. Katie should discourage them from calling her mum as Nicole is offically their mother by rights

I have 2 step children and I don't think it's appropriate for them to call me Mum. They have their own Mum and I can never replace her. With Nicole and Katie it's different as the children are adopted, but Nicole was to all intents and purposes their Mum and should be referred to as such. Katie should not be encouraging the children to call her Mum. For one thing, Suri could be resentful when she's older. I have 2 adopted brothers who always called my parents Mum and Dad and that's the way it should be.

Poor Nicole...I cant believe that her children no longer call her mom!! Its great that Katie is so close to her step children, but they should not forget their real mum.
