Amy faces £300,000 legal bill

Marie Claire news: Amy Winehouse Rex Features

Amy Winehouse suffered a new blow yesterday when she learned she will have to pay her husband's £300,000 legal aid bill.

In the latest in a string of bad luck for the troubled singer, Blake Fielder-Civil has had his plea for costs rejected by the courts, which means she will have to fund his fight against charges that he tried to fix a trial.

The final bill could be as much as £500,000, the Daily Mirror reports.

The money issues sparked a new war of words between the couple's parents, with Blake's mother Georgette Fielder-Civil claiming Winehouse is neglecting her son, who is on remand in prison.

Winehouse's father hit back, saying: 'Amy is going to pay for his legal team and that will be a lot of money. I don't see how anyone can say she's not doing anything for him.'

He also revealed that many of the singer's problems were down to unhappiness. 'It's clear there are issues of self-image, self-lothing. We were recently looking at photos of her five years ago, when she was curvy, and she said, 'I look really happy there'. I said, 'Aren't you happy now, darling?' and she said, 'I've been happier'. There was a realisation there.'
