Angelina signs for spy film

Angelina Jolie has signed up to star as a female version of Matt Damon's Jason Bourne character.

Jolie will play a female spy, with her character being based on Kathi Lynn Austin, a former intelligence operative who worked for the UN security council. Austin worked around the world on terrorism and trafficking cases and recently sold her story to Paramount.

The film has been described as being 'similar in spirit' to the hugely successful Jason Bourne trilogy, and could see Angelina starring as Austin for a series of films. She is currently shooting The Changeling, directed by Clint Eastwood.

I'm sure Angelina will be great in this role. I've read about Lynn Austin before and I think Angelina's the perfect person to bring her to life on the big screen. I still think she should have received more acclaim for her role in A Mighty Heart - it was a brilliant film and a brilliant performance from her.
