BRITNEY SPEARS HASN?T had much luck recently ? but it looks like that might be about to change.

In the first legal victory for the troubled star, the singer is to be allowed to spend Christmas with her children.

Spears lost custody of her sons Jayden James, aged one, and Sean Preston, two, to her ex-husband Kevin Federline earlier this year after a bruising public battle.

But the former couple's lawyers thrashed out a deal this week to allow her access to them on Christmas day - although Federline will keep custody of them full-time.

The boys currently live with him and Spears is only allowed supervised visits until the custody dispute is formally settled.

Earlier the same day, Spears faced charges of driving without a valid licence. A judge adjourned the case to give her lawyer enough time to collect evidence.

Meanwhile, the singer was back working yesterday, filming the video for her new single Piece of Me. Production was delayed because she had scheduled a visit from her sons and refused to remain on set for more than two hours.
