Nicole Kidman feared for life

Nicole Kidman

NICOLE KIDMAN FEARED for her life when a paparazzo tailed her in a high-speed car chase.

The star gave evidence yesterday at the New South Wales Supreme Court, admitting that she slouched down in the back seat of the car to avoid being seen, as she was driven to her parents' home for dinner in Sydney.

Kidman told the court that her driver John Manning said they were being followed by photographer Jamie Fawcett and another car.

The actress said: 'He said that they were driving crazy and that they had run red lights and jumped the median strip.' She described Mr Manning's voice as 'pretty panicked' adding: 'I was frightened and I was worried about a car accident.'

The 40-year-old star is currently filming in Sydney on a movie epic called Australia and revealed in court she is now terrified of paparazzi stalking her in Sydney.

'There were so many occasions, I've employed people to protect me now - 24-hour security - I don't drive myself because I'm too scared [of] being pursued,' she said.

Kidman also gave evidence saying she and her husband Keith Urban had also been pursued by Mr Fawcett when they travelled to Tahiti for their honeymoon 18 months ago, and again last Christmas, which she said made her 'very upset'. The case continues.
