Stars honoured at American Music Awards

Beyonce Knowles at the American Music Awards

SOME OF THE world's biggest music stars were honoured at the American Music Awards last night, with Justin Timberlake scooping two of the coveted gongs.

The SexyBack singer earned Best Pop-Rock Artist and Best Soul/R&B Album for FutureSex/LoveSounds.

But it was American idol loser Chris Daughtry who actually stole the limelight by picking up no less then three awards for his band Daughtry. They snapped up Favourite Pop-Rock Album, Best Breakthrough Artist and Best Adult Contemporary Artist.

R&B star Usher presented Beyoncé with the International Artist Award, which has only been given to a handful of other artists, including Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart and Aerosmith.

Celine Dion, Lenny Kravitz and Fergie wowed the crowds with explosive performances, with Fergie also picking up Favourite Pop-Rock Female Artist.
