Marco Pierre White's ITV deal

Marco Pierre White

FIERY CHEF, MARCO Pierre White has signed a 'golden handcuffs' deal with ITV worth £1.5 million.

After the success of this year's Hell's Kitchen, where the grumpy chef served up some tough cooking lessons to a group of quivering celebrities, ITV has snapped him up to work on a second series next year, along with other documentary-style programmes.

The contract will tie him exclusively to ITV for the next three years, and is the first offer Marco has accepted in years, after turning them down in spades.

Marco says his decision was swayed after he enjoyed working with the Hell's Kitchen crew so much.

'They were different to others I'd met,' he told the Mirror. 'I said I'd only agree if they let me be myself and if the show was educational, inspirational and interesting.

'This deal will give me the opportunity to share my knowledge.'

ITV programming chief, Simon Shaps, said: 'Marco is a complete original.'
