Daniel Radcliffe to debut on Broadway

Daniel Radcliffe

HARRY POTTER STAR Daniel Radcliffe is set to make his debut on Broadway, reprising his role in Equus.

The actor will be joined by Richard Griffiths after both played to sold-out crowds in the recent London revival of Equus. The resurgence of Peter Shaffer's play will open in September 2008 in New York.

Radcliffe made his West End debut back in February this year, winning himself positive reviews from the critics and creating a stir because of the nude scenes in which the 18-year-old bares all.

The star became a major talking point, taking on a role a million miles from the Harry Potter character he is so well known for. Radcliffe plays the disturbed adolescent Alan Strang, a stable boy who blinded six horses with a spike. Richard Griffiths takes on the role of psychiatrist Martin Dysart, attempting to discover the cause of Strang's psychosis. No doubt it will be a sell-out across the pond too – for more reasons than one.
