Government names WAGS as perfect teenage role models

THE GOVERNMENT HAS advised British teenagers to look up to footballers' WAGS, and aim to be more like them. The advise comes from the Learning and Skills Council, who claim that the WAGS are a good example for young people, and should encourage them to stay in education after they are 16-years-old.

Though they may not be famed for their intelligence the WAGS have been chosen as research showed that nine of the ten most famous have achieved decent qualifications, with the minimum needed being five A*-C passes at GCSE level.

The only exception proved to be Queen of WAGS Victoria Beckham. She left school after gaining a handful of GCSE's, not enough to reach the minimum level needed.

Most intelligent proved to be Michael Carrick's wife Lisa Roughead, who has a degree, while tabloid favourite Coleen McLoughlin gained 10 GCSE's, including four grade As.

The study acknowledges that young girls may idolise the WAGS glamorous lifestyles, but wants to emphasise that to get ahead in life, qualifications form a good basis for success.

Julia Dowd, director of learning at the LSC states, 'Many young people today believe that fame and fortune are possible without hard work. The reality is that leaving your future down to chance could leave you in a low-paid, dead-end job.'

Well every girl isn't going to land a rich footballer, so I'm glad the article mentioned that you still need to further your education and get a good job, and not depend on your looks.
