Cate Blanchett at London premiere of Elizabeth: The Golden Age

CATE BLANCHETT'S whirlwind tour continued last night as she arrived in London for the premiere of her latest movie, Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

The Australian star sparkled in a beautiful strapless Vivienne Westwood gown that showed off her new and much-talked about curves.

The 38-year-old actress has played down the Oscar hype surrounding this latest role, saying in an interview with Sky News: 'Oscar who?' and adding: 'In the end, when you reprise a role, you just hope the film is going to stand on its own two feet, which I think this does.'

Maybe Blanchett's mantlepiece is a little full already - she has already been honoured with a Best Supporting Actress actress Academy Award for her portrayal of Katharine Hepburn in The Aviator.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age opens on 2 November
