Cate Blanchett at premiere of Elizabeth: The Golden Age

Cate Blanchett made quite a splash on the red carpet last night for the premiere of her latest film Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

The Australian actress wore a draped teal Grecian-inspired gown with her hair softly tied back.

She was joined by co-star Abbie Cornish and director Shekhar Kapur. The sequel to the 1995 film Elizabeth, also starring Blanchett, explores the relationship between Elizabeth I and Sir Walter Raleigh, played by Clive Owen.

The film is set for release this side of the pond on 2 November.
