Keith Urban crashes in motorbike accident

KEITH URBAN WAS involved in a motorbike accident at the weekend.



Nicole Kidman's country singer husband was allegedly being chased by a paparazzo at the time of the accident in Sydney.



In a statement released by Urban, the singer explained he was driving to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in Australia's capital when he realised he was being followed by a photographer.



'Today's incident was the result of one person's desire to do his job and my desire to maintain my privacy,' read Urban's statement. 'I felt myself being pursued, I sped up, and in an effort to elude an oncoming car which was making an illegal u-turn, saw no choice but to drop my bike.'



Urban explained that reassuringly, the photographer came to his assistance and managed to put the camera down while he helped the star up.



The country star entered a rehab centre for alcohol treatment in October last year and completed the programme at the beginning of this year.
