Keira Knightley was on the red carpet in London last night for the British premiere of her Oscar-tipped movie, Atonement.

A week after stunning fans in a sweet pink Chanel dress at the Venice Film Festival screening of the film, Keira last night opted for an edgier, silver-grey design by Rodarte, slashed across the chest and accessorised with a sexy little Bulgari tiara and statement Chanel ring.

Unfortunately, her fashion statement wasn't without detractors: one American commentator claimed the star was showing off the 'sex appeal of [a] gutted codfish', while a British paper labelled her simply 'gaunt'.

Thankfully, the film is getting far better reviews than Keira's dress sense - even the star's mum likes it. 'I knew it was quite good when my mum went to see it and was crying,' she told one reporter last night.
