CATE BLANCHETT AS BOB DYLAN IN NEW FILM

Cate Blanchett

Cate blanchett is renowned for her diverse choice of roles. She wowed audiences with her uncanny likeness to Katharine Hepburn in The Aviator, played ethereal elf Galadriel in Lord of the Rings and scatty art teacher in Notes on a Scandal.

In her latest role however, she takes on a whole new guise – and becomes a man.

Blanchett plays one of seven characters embodying different aspects of Bob Dylan's life in upcoming movie I'm Not There. It is the first time she has played a man and despite her Hollywood looks, she plays a very convincing male.

Other stars who play the musician at different stages of his life include Christian Bale, Richard Gere and Heath Ledger.

Some footage of the actress in her uncanny disguise has been released. See Blanchett play the legendary musician here.
