ELEVEN EXTRAS INJURED ON SET OF TOM CRUISE FILM
The curse of Tom Cruise's latest film has struck again. Eleven extras were yesterday hospitalised after an accident occurred on the set of Valkyrie, in Germany.
The extras fell from a van altered to look like a war-time military vehicle, when a side panel became loose. One man is seriously injured, while ten have been treated for cuts and bruises.
The $80 million movie sees Cruise take the role of 'Good Nazi' Count Claus Shenk Graf von Stauffenberg, an army general who tried to blow up Hitler. The project has been plagued by problems though, as many Germans have disagreed with the casting of Cruise as a German hero.
Berlin councillors tried to ban Cruise filiming in the capital for fear that the film will be nothing but scientology propoganda. Von Stauffenberg's son is also very unhappy with the casting of Cruise and said to German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung: 'He should leave my father alone. He should go climb a mountain or go surfing in the Caribbean. I don't give a hoot as long as he keeps out of it.'
