Remember how much fun it used to be to colour as a kid?

Well, thanks to artist Mel Elliott and her brilliant pop culture colouring books, you can bust out your childhood crayon collection as an adult - and you don't have to be the least bit embarrassed.

You may have seen (and lusted after) Mel's Ryan Gosling colouring book, which gained popularity in the height of his 'Hey Girl' phase.

She's since expanded her Colour Me Good collection to include a Ginger book, featuring sketches of Damian Lewis, Prince Harry and more hot redheads, as well as a Swooooon book with drawings of Robert Pattinson, Harry Styles, Aaron Paul and more.

But as much as we love colouring in pics of sexy celebrity men, Mel's latest book just might be the best one yet.

Colour Me Girl Crush pays homage to Mel's favourite famous ladies. The book features the coolest It Girls of the mo - from Cara Delevingne to Alexa Chung to Beyoncé - as well as commentary on their unique styles and personalities.

So how did Mel decide which fab females to include?

'It was tricky,' she tells Marie Claire. 'I had a certain number of "must haves" such as Beyonce, Alexa Chung, Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. But then I had to just go with my instinct and ask female friends.

'I could have easily doubled the thickness of this book - there are so many wonderful and inspirational women out there.'

It's clear that Mel has a lot of girl crushes. But just for fun, we asked her to play favourites.

'If you're making me pick just one... I think Debbie Harry for beauty, style, talent and most of all, attitude,' she says.

Colour Me Girl Crush will be released on 24 April - or you can get an advanced signed copy on her website from 14 April.

Got a tablet? You can now download Marie Claire magazine straight to your iPad for the new price of £2.99, Kindle (just search the store for 'marie claire magazine'), Nook or Google Nexus.
