Victoria Beckham admits the little black Gucci dress that shaped her Spice Girls style, was actualy bought from this high-street store.

Victoria Beckham made the little black dress her signature style as a member of the Spice Girls, coveting a slick pop and heels wherever the band went.

Now, as a fully-fledged fashion designer, VB has revealed the truth behind that infamous 'little Gucci dress'.

And there's an unlikely high-street label to thank.

Talking in her new Skype documentary, Five Years - The Victoria Beckham Story, she admits: 'The first dress I wore in the Spice Girls that everybody thought was a little black Gucci dress was actually from Miss Selfridge.'

'I couldn't have afforded a little black Gucci dress,' the British designer says.

Although Victoria Beckham can afford as many Gucci frocks as she likes now, we love that the style Queen started out in a Miss Selfridge number.

The mum-of-four admits she's always had a craving for the Italian fashion house, admitting she carried her school books in the only Gucci bag she could afford as a teen.

'It was a Gucci carrier bag - not a proper Gucci bag,' she told Bang Showbiz. 'A carrier bag that I would lug all of my books to school in. I would use that day in day out, until the bottom of the thing fell out.

Amazing.
