Victoria Beckham looked on as David Beckham broke down in tears during his final football game for PSG
Victoria Beckham was there to support her man over the weekend as David Beckham ended his football career with his last game for Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
A visibly emotional Beckham was in tears as he left the pitch in Paris to a standing ovation from the crowd in Parc des Princes, that included former French president Nicolas Sarkozy.
The end of his football career came when coach Carlo Ancelotti decided to substitute him in the 81st minute of Saturday’s football match.
His teammates mobbed him as he made his way to the bench, with even goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu running down the pitch to give Becks a congratulatory hug.
As Beckham blew a kiss to Victoria, Harper, Romeo, Cruz and Brooklyn, who were watching from the stands, his mother Sandra was seen also wiping away a tear.
Speaking after the match, Beckham said: ‘The emotion started kicking in, it was hard to run, let alone kick a ball.
‘I still feel good, but I know it’s the right time [to retire].’
Beckham, 38, announced his retirement from professional football on Thursday, after saying that he wanted to finish on top of his game.
