Noah and Allie are back! US network to release series set after the events of the 2004 film

In what is possibly the best/worst news we’ve heard all week the number one most romantic film of all time, yes, we’re talking about The Notebook, is being turned into a TV series. No, we have not made this up.

The new series, which is being created by The CW, will reportedly follow Noah and Allie in their life following their reconciliation at the end of the hit movie.

They have said of the show: “This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina.”

Nicholas Sparks who wrote the novel behind the film will serve as an executive producer on the show, however, it does not look like Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, aka the original Noah and Allie, will be returning.

In a move away from the original story line which sees an older Noah returning to a care home to look after Allie who has Alzheimer’s, the new series will not show the characters in their elder years.

Whether the show will be any good or whether the legacy of The Notebook should have been left untouched is yet to be seen but here’s why we will be watching (for at least the first episode)…

1.To find out if Noah and Allie have children. Come on, something has to come of all that canoodling they were doing on the floor

2.To watch Allie’s parents learn to love Noah as their own, who could not love a man who builds someone he is not even going out with a WHOLE HOUSE

3.To see what Allie might wear to their wedding…

4.And what Noah might say in his sure to be totally adorable wedding speech

5.To remind ourselves of what love really is
