Hollywood film director Quentin Tarantino has confirmed a theory which his fans have been speculating about for years: all of his films, from True Romance and Natural Born Killers to Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, are connected.

Theories about the links between all of Tarantino’s movies have been rattling around the internet for years, but this is the first time the director has addressed these theories head-on.

‘There [are] actually two separate universes’ he said, ‘There is the realer than real universe, alright, and all the characters inhabit that one. But then there’s this movie universe. So From Dusk Til Dawn, Kill Bill, they all take place in this special movie universe. So when the characters of Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction, when they go to the movies, Kill Bill is what they go to see. From Dusk Till Dawn is what they see.’

Tarantino has hinted in the past that his characters are part of an inter-connected world. There are the relatives - Michael Madsen’s character from Reservoir Dogs and John Travolta’s character in Pulp Fiction are brothers, while True Romance’s Lee Donowitz is the son of Inglorious Basterd’s Donnie Donowitz, while Pulp Fiction's Fox Force Five is a reference to the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad in Kill Bill.

We also know that Tarantino’s latest movie The Hateful Eight – starring Samuel L Jackson, Kurt Russell and Jennifer Jason Leigh - was originally intended as a sequel to Django Unchained.

The news will have Tarantino’s army of devoted fans in a spin. Now all we need is one of them to make a big infographic which connects the whole Tarantino ‘movieverse’ together.
