Sheryl Crow and Avril Lavigne to headline all-female festival
Sheryl Crow and Avril Lavigne are championing girl power by organising an all-female festival, which they will also headline.
GirlFrenzy, which will take place at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, California, on 27 October, will be a day-long event featuring chart-topping female acts as well as emerging new talent.
Stars in the ascendent, Sara Bareilles, Antigone Rising and Colbie Caillat, who have built up followings on social networking site MySpace, are all expected to perform.
The event will mark Sheryl’s return to music after she took a break to concentrate on her four-month-old son, Wyatt Steven, who she adopted in May.
Avril will complete three October concerts in Mexico before performing in the all-girl get-together.
