Her personal life might have seen a turn for the worse during 2010, but professionally, Sandra Bullock is soaring, as she's has been named the highest-paid actress in Hollywood by Forbes.com.

The Oscar-winner earned $56 million (£35 million) between June 2009 and June 2010, thanks to her Oscar-winning turn in The Blind Side, which netted $310 million at the box office, and The Proposal, which grossed $320 million.

Racing ahead with the title - she made $20 million more than her nearest competitors on the list - Ms Bullock's stellar earning power was the result of some savvy business moves. Rather than take a large fee upfront on both The Blind Side and The Proposal, she opted for a share of profits, a move that paid off handsomely.

As for Sandra's competition, Cameron Diaz and Reese Witherspoon tied in second, both making $32 million a piece, while Jennifer Aniston came in fourth with $27 million, and Sarah Jessica Parker fifth with $25 million.

Forbes calculates actress's earnings not just through their fees and profits from movies, but by taking into account earnings from ad campaigns, perfume endorsements and clothing lines.
