Terrible news ladies. Ryan Gosling is to move behind the camera when he makes his directorial debut in the new movie, How to Catch a Monster.
We are pretty devastated to hear that Ryan is taking his beautiful face off our screens (even for just one film), but news has emerged that the Oscar-nominated actor will be directing his Drive co-star Christina Hendricks in the new 'fantasy noir' film.
Penned by Gosling, the movie centres on Hendrick's character, a single mother of two who is caught up in a dark underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.
RYAN GOSLING AND EMMA STONE SIZZLE IN NEW MOVIE
At last year’s Toronto Film Festival, Gosling revealed his desire to start directing, telling IndieWire: 'I wanted to work with George Clooney on Ides Of March because he’s an actor turned director and I wanted to see that in action, and I’m learning a lot from Nicolas Winding Refn and Derek Cianfrance.
'I’m just basically trying to treat it as a film school for myself right now before I start making my own films — not to undervalue the movies themselves, I want to see those movies so I’m making them — but I’m also trying to get as much out of them as I can before I kind of transition out of this and into that.'
