Cutting-edge photographer Rankin may have shot some of the most beautiful women in the world, but his latest exhibition combines Tudor icons with today's hottest desgners.

Nine of his latest photographs of models will be placed alongside legendary paintings from the past in SNAPPED at the National Portrait Gallery.

Designers including Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, Matthew Williamson and Hussein Chalayan have dressed the women, making it a fashion fabulous event.

And if you think his model choices – from Natasha Ndlovu to the oldest supermodel in the world, Daphne Self – are particularly varied, it’s because the show forms part of the All Walks Beyond The Catwalk initiative.

Formed by Caryn Franklin and supermodel Erin O’Connor to expand the rigid beauty ideals of the fashion industry, Erin will also take part in a panel discussion on the evening, ‘Has Fashion Imagery become the lens by which we evaluate identity?’

All Walks Beyond The Catwalk presents SNAPPED on 11 February 2011, 6-10pm. Entry is free, but the debate is for ticket-holders. A limited number of free tickets will be available on the door at 6pm.
