'I let my family down,' Prince Harry reveals in a new interview to mark the end of his service…

Prince Harry says he let himself and his family down when pictures of him partying naked in Las Vegas were published in the national press last year.

Speaking in an interview to mark his return from a tour of duty in Afghanistan, the royal said the events were a 'classic example' of him being 'too much army and not enough Prince'.

Harry caused a media storm ahead of his tour last year, when nude pictures of him playing 'strip billiards' in Las Vegas were published around the world.

Now the Prince says he did let others down with the debacle, but also attacks the press for the intrusion.

In a remarkably honest interview, filmed before he left afghanistan for home, he said of the incident: 'At the end of the day I probably let myself down, I let my family down, I let other people down.

He added: "It was probably a classic example of me probably being too much Army and not enough prince. It's a simple case of that.

'But I was in a private area and there should be a certain amount of privacy that one should expect.'

The royal also said he felt far more comfortable as Captain Wales than Prince Harry, adding that he switches between three different personas.

'My father's always trying to remind me about who I am and stuff like that,' he said.

'But it's very easy to forget about who I am when I am in the Army. Everyone's wearing the same uniform and doing the same kind of thing.'

He added: It's the role for anybody in the Army, especially the role for myself and William - you've got to be able to flip the switch all the time."

He explained his 'three mes'.

'One in the Army, one socially in my own private time, and then one with the family and stuff like that. So there is a switch and I flick it when necessary.

'And I'd like to think that it's measured and balanced as the way it is. Army comes first, it's my work at the end of the day.'
