Prince George celebrated his first birthday with a royal tea party, and one stellar guest list.

Kate Middleton and Prince William celebrated Prince George’s first birthday with a private party at Kensington Palace, yesterday.

Before you let your imaginations run wild, the royal family did not go all-out with a Kimye-inspired ‘Kidchella’. Instead, they went for something very low-key and very fitting for an English prince: a tea party.

As you could have guessed, it turned out to be the mother of all tea parties with a pretty incomparable guest list.

First there was the Queen. Baby George’s great-grandmother stopped by the afternoon shindig to wish the new prince a happy birthday.

Prince Harry swung by with Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and Zara Tindall, one of George’s seven godparents, and baby Mia Grace.

Of course the whole Middleton crew was there too. Pippa, Carole, Michael, and James also spent the afternoon at the palace with their newest family member.

And a few more of the prince’s godparents showed up bearing gifts as well; Julia Samuel, William van Cutsem, Emilia Jardine-Paterson and Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton.

Though Prince Philip was unable to attend, Kate Middleton and Prince George hopped in their car and drove over to Buckingham Palace for a quick visit with great-grandad before the festivities began.
