Kristen Stewart couldn't wait to swap her Balenciaga Met Ball dress for jeans and a leather jacket

She scrubbed up oh-so-well in a daring Balenciaga dress at the glittering Met Ball in New York last night, but it seems Kristen Stewart just couldn't wait to ditch her glad rags.

MET BALL 2012: ALL THE PICS

The sultry actress hit the red carpet in an attention-grabbing number designed by Balenciaga design star Nicolas Ghesquiere at the event, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

But just hours after rubbing shoulders with the stars at the A-list event, dubbed the 'fashion Oscars', Kristen decided to ditch her dress for something slightly more comfortable.

While many other actresses were swapping one designer gown for another, it's thought Kristen snuck off to find her favourite skinny jeans, t-shirt and leather jacket before making her way to one of the evening's star-studded after-parties.

And today she was spied in her favourite down time attire once again, emerging from her hotel this morning in an almost identical get-up.

Next week it's thought Kristen will set off on the publicity trail for new flick Snow White and the Huntsman, ahead of the release later this month.

So lets hope we'll see a few more of those red carpet dresses...
